UDF Urges NBEMS New Delhi, July 25:

The United Doctors Front (UDF) has urged the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to allocate NEET PG 2025 exam centres in nearby cities, citing serious inconvenience caused to thousands of candidates.

In a letter sent to NBEMS, UDF Chairperson Dr. Lakshya Mittal and Vice-President Dr. Amit Vyas said that despite candidates selecting preferred centres in their home states, many have been allotted far-off locations for the August 3 exam.

“This is particularly unfair for differently-abled candidates, women, and students from economically weaker sections. On such short notice, even booking train tickets is a challenge,” said the letter.

UDF, which had earlier petitioned against holding the NEET PG in two shifts—leading to a Supreme Court directive to conduct the exam in a single shift—warned that long-distance travel just before the exam could impact students’ performance.

“In the age of AI and digital planning, allocating centres near candidates’ homes shouldn’t be difficult,” said Dr. Mittal.

UDF has demanded that NBEMS reopen the exam centre change portal to allow candidates to opt for nearby locations and avoid unnecessary stress.

This was confirmed by UDF National Spokesperson Dr. Yagika Pareek.
