NEET UG cancelation raises serious questions about fairness and transparency on the part of National Testing Agency. The Modi Government must bring the culprits, coaching mafias to justice.
New Delhi/Shimla/Chandigarh: The reported cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination has triggered nationwide outrage, once again putting the functioning of the National Testing Agency under the scanner.
The latest controversy has raised serious questions over the credibility, fairness, and transparency of India’s premier medical entrance examination system, leaving lakhs of students and parents shaken and frustrated.
Launching a scathing attack on the examination process, the United Doctors Front said the repeated irregularities in NEET examinations expose a “deep-rooted nexus and systemic collapse” within the system that can no longer be brushed aside as isolated lapses.
In a strongly worded statement, UDF Chairperson Dr. Lakshya Mittal said that while the decision to cancel and re-conduct the examination may be necessary to protect fairness, it cannot become a routine escape route every time serious allegations of paper leaks, manipulation, or examination fraud surface.
“The testing agency has repeatedly failed to live up to the expectations of aspiring candidates who spend years preparing honestly for one of the toughest examinations in the country,” he said, adding that the faith of genuine students is being “systematically eroded” by recurring controversies.
The doctors’ body demanded a high-level, transparent and time-bound investigation into the alleged scam, warning that merely cancelling the exam without fixing accountability would amount to shielding the real culprits.
UDF demanded immediate identification and arrest of every person linked to the racket, irrespective of political influence or official status.
The organisation alleged that if corruption infiltrates medical admissions, it ultimately threatens the country’s healthcare system itself.
“The students entering medical colleges today will become tomorrow’s doctors.
If undeserving candidates enter through fraudulent means, patient safety and the quality of healthcare in India will inevitably suffer,” the statement said.
The UDF also called upon the Government of India to treat the matter as a national priority and ensure that no politician, bureaucrat, coaching mafia operator, middleman, or influential individual receives protection during the investigation.
The latest controversy has once again intensified demands for structural reforms in India’s examination system, with students and parents questioning whether the country’s competitive examinations remain truly merit-based anymore.
DG NTA Abhishek Singh said the CBI has lodged FIR and culprits will be brought to book. The new dates will be announced in 10 days time.

RESPONSE:
1. Complete failure of the system of governance
Which delegates function based on trust of the people to private players
It is not an arduous or uphill task to conduct such an examination but the faith & trust of the innocent students in the system must be responded by the system based upon transparency run by the persons, of impeccable character & integrity I put it by saying, saints who had a past and not by the sinners
I think this is the right time for judicial intervention even in conducting such examination as the law is king of kings
