New Delhi/Shimla: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has embarked on a comprehensive review of the readiness for the inaugural phase of the General Elections, slated to commence on April 19th.
With voters spread in 102 parliamentary constituencies spread across 21 states set to cast their votes, the ECI has left no stone unturned in ensuring a seamless and transparent electoral process, say CEC RajivKumar.
In a proactive move, the Election Commission has engaged in extensive interactions with more than 350 Election Observers stationed across the country.
These Observers, comprising 127 General, 67 Police, and 167 Expenditure Observers, play a pivotal role in upholding the integrity and fairness of the electoral proceedings.
The deployment of such a substantial number of Observers underscores the ECI's unwavering commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections.
Their presence serves as a deterrent against malpractices and irregularities, ensuring that the electoral process remains untainted and reflective of the will of the people.
The 102 parliamentary constituencies scheduled for polling in the first phase represent a diverse cross-section of the nation, encompassing a myriad of socio-cultural landscapes and demographics.
As such, the meticulous planning and coordination undertaken by the Election Commission are crucial in facilitating a smooth and efficient electoral exercise.
With the date drawing near, all eyes are on the Election Commission as it orchestrates one of the largest democratic exercises in the world.
The commission's efforts to bolster transparency, enhance voter confidence, and safeguard the sanctity of the electoral process are commendable, setting the stage for a landmark event in India's democratic journey.
