No damage major damage was done but the treat looms in the near-by areas.
DC Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, held an emergency meeting today, emphasizing the phased reopening of the affected roads to prevent further landslides. "We're ensuring no additional harm occurs," he said, adding that traffic diversions will remain in place until the situation stabilizes.
Kashyap also noted that hasty clearance of the landslide could trigger more slides. "Special agencies are on-site, advising on the safest methods to restore the roads," he stated.
The landslide has also disrupted essential services, with power lines, communication cables, and water pipelines being affected. Relevant departments have already assessed the site and initiated alternative plans to prevent service interruptions.

After the meeting, DC Kashyap, along with other SP Gandhi and other officials, inspected the landslide site to assess the situation and discuss the quickest possible restoration of traffic.
The administration is keeping a close watch on other landslide-prone areas in Shimla, with experts on hand to manage any emerging situations.
