SHIMLA: In a fiery rebuttal aimed at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri of Himachal Pradesh minced no words, accusing the BJP of orchestrating a nefarious plot to destabilize the incumbent Congress government.
Talking to the media in Una, Agnihotri vehemently denounced the BJP's alleged machinations to undermine the state administration.
"The Congress government of Himachal Pradesh stands resolute for its full term of five years" he asserted dubbing Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur's claim as daydreaming and hilarious.
There is no room for trepidation; voters must cast their ballots in allegiance to their chosen representatives," declared Agnihotri, his words resonating with unwavering conviction.
Highlighting a contentious saga of defections, Agnihotri contended, "It is abundantly clear that the six Congress MLAs who defected or the three independents aligned with them have been conveniently rewarded with BJP tickets.
"This incontrovertibly exposes the BJP's insidious agenda to engineer the downfall of the duly elected Congress government."
Agnihotri lambasted the BJP's assertions regarding the purported fragility of the Congress regime, countering with a resolute stance.
"Our government commands a solid mandate, with 34 out of 62 MLAs firmly in support. Any insinuation of minority status is a disingenuous ploy by the opposition to sow discord and mislead the public," he asserted, his tone unwavering.
Dismissing BJP's claims of imminent collapse, Agnihotri retorted, "The BJP peddles baseless notions of minority governance. However, let it be known that our government stands firm against such subterfuge. We are prepared to weather any storm, for the will of the people is our steadfast anchor."
With an incisive critique of the BJP's electoral arithmetic, Agnihotri struck a decisive blow, stating, "Should the need arise for elections, a mere single seat out of nine would suffice to bolster the Congress's position".
Conversely, the BJP, despite its brazen efforts, falls short with only nine seats. The acquisition of nine tickets by six defectors and three independents serves as damning evidence of their cynical tactics.", he charged.
Congress government, fortified by the trust of the electorate, stands unwavering against the machinations of political adversaries, he asserted.
