SHIMLA: In the high hills of Shimla, amidst the crisp April air, the 'Silk Route Ultra Trail 2024' kicked off from Narkanda, marking a fusion of adventure, history, and civic duty.
Runners from near and far embarked on the challenging journey, not just for the thrill, but to spread awareness about voting across 30 Panchayats along the trail.
Led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Verma and District and Sessions Judge Rampur Birendra Thakur, the event symbolized a blend of tradition and modernity.
As the runners tackled the rugged terrain, they also carried the weight of responsibility, inspiring youth and locals alike.
With categories ranging from 15 km to the grueling 100 km, participants embraced the ancient Indo-Tibet road, once trodden by traders and explorers.
Through their endurance, they honored history and advocated for civic engagement.
