SHIMLA: In a momentous occasion for sports enthusiasts and athletes, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth Services and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur, joined hands with Vikramaditya Singh, overseeing Public Works Department and Youth Services Sports, to inaugurate a groundbreaking 200-meter six-lane Synthetic Athletic Track at the Sports Authority of India's High Altitude Training Centre (HATC) in Shilaroo in Shimla district.

This state-of-the-art facility is poised to be a game-changer in the region's and the nation's sporting landscape.

It offers athletes a unique opportunity to acclimatize to high-altitude conditions, thereby enhancing their endurance, stamina, and post-training recovery.

Union Minister Thakur expressed the government's commitment to sports accessibility and the creation of an environment where athletes can flourish in a highly competitive setting. The inauguration of this world-class track signifies a significant step towards realizing that vision.

The Synthetic Athletic Track is expected to attract top-tier athletes from across the country, providing them with the ideal setting to train and excel.

Its high-altitude location in Shimla, nestled in the picturesque Himachal Pradesh, adds an extra dimension to athletes' preparations, preparing them for challenging conditions they may face in various national and international competitions.

Vikramaditya Singh said this track would help  nurture and support its sporting talent, setting the stage for future successes on the global sports arena. Together they will take Himachal to new heights of development, he added. 

As athletes from different disciplines converge on this new facility, the nation eagerly anticipates witnessing their remarkable achievements and the positive impact of this track on their performance.
