SHIMLA: In a  move, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has directed the implementation of the 'One State One Portal' digi-system.

This revolutionary initiative aims to bring together all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) services under a single online platform, streamlining operations and enhancing service delivery.

The Chief Minister said this would minimize the need for physical visits to government offices. Services such as property tax, bill payments, notices, and various permissions will now be accessible online, benefiting the citizens and reducing corruption within the system.

To ensure a seamless approval process, a fully automated online buildings permission system is being developed with the assistance of the Department of Digital Technology and Governance.

This system will enable real-time scrutiny of building drawings, guaranteeing efficiency and accuracy in the approval process.

The 'One State One Portal' will also facilitate the uploading of applications and documents, enabling the issuance of permissions and notices through the digital platform.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need to raise objections only once, discontinuing the practice of repeated objections. Furthermore, digital technology will be adopted in accounts keeping, modernizing the functioning of ULBs and government departments.

Sukhu addressed the water supply scarcity issue in areas falling under the Shimla Municipal Corporation. Immediate action will be taken to restore water supply schemes affected by floods, along with in-situ treatment of turbidity.

Plans are underway to construct a dam on Giri River to address silting problems, with the design being prepared by the Power Corporation. Furthermore, repairs will be undertaken for the water tank in Seog to increase its water storage capacity and alleviate water supply problems in Shimla town.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Principal Advisor to Chief Minister (IT and Innovation) Gokul Butail, as well as senior officers from various departments attended the meeting.
