SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh government has brought mushrooming Homestay units under its net  to  boost tourism and enhance infrastructure across the state.

 With a  focus on promoting health tourism and improving hospitality standards, the government aims to attract more visitors and provide them with memorable experiences in new and unexplored destinations in Himachal.

Free run for Homestays is overnow.  He announced plan to bring all Home Stay Units under the ambit of the 'Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development and Registration Act', ensuring better regulation and quality standards for accommodation facilities.

This move is poised to elevate the hospitality sector and enhance the experience of tourists seeking authentic and comfortable stays in the state.

Homestay have emerged as a source of income for young entrepreneurs in rural Himachal. But many things remain amiss as greedy ones resort to overcharging and tourists go back with bitter experience bringing bad name for Brand Himachal. 

Furthermore, the government is set to finalize the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Plan for the expansion of Gaggal Airport, signaling improved connectivity and accessibility for travelers.

CM Sukhu said plans are underway to develop 9 out of the proposed 16 heliports in the state, strategically located in various districts including Hamirpur, Kangra, Chamba, Kullu, Kinnaur, and Lahaul-Spiti.

These heliports will facilitate convenient access to remote and scenic destinations, enhancing the overall tourism experience.

In a bid to diversify tourism offerings, iconic locations such as Chandratal, Kaza, Tandi, Rackchham, and Nako – Chango – Khab are earmarked for development as tourist destinations.

Additionally, infrastructure development projects such as the construction of a Sky Walk Bridge in the renowned tourist spot Haasan Valley near Kufri and the establishment of a broad gauge rail line from Kalka to Parwanoo are set to enhance accessibility and convenience for visitors.

Moreover, the government has outlined plans for the development and management of Pong Dam under the Swadesh Darshan-2 scheme, aimed at leveraging natural resources for tourism promotion.

A 3.2-kilometer-long ropeway project between Bijli Mahadev and Mohal in Kullu is slated to commence, offering tourists a unique and panoramic aerial view of the breathtaking landscape, CM said.

These concerted efforts underscore the government's commitment to fostering sustainable tourism growth and positioning Himachal Pradesh as a premier destination for travelers seeking adventure, relaxation, and cultural experiences amidst nature's bounty.
