SHIMLA:  People have donated over Rs. 200 Crore to the Aapda Rahat Kosh-2023 to assist families affected by heavy rains and landslides in Himachal Pradesh during this monsoon season till today. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has been leading this initiative.

Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Himachal Pradesh collected Rs. 145 crore in public donations. However, the response to the Aapda Rahat Kosh-2023 has exceeded expectations, with donations expected to surpass Rs. 300 crore.

Chief Minister Sukhu personally donated Rs. 51 lakh from his savings, inspired by children who donated their piggy banks. His family also contributed - his mother donated Rs. 50 thousand, and his sister gave Rs. 1,11,111.

he Chief Minister expressed gratitude to all contributors, emphasizing the unity and generosity of Himachal Pradesh in helping those affected by the disaster.
