Mandi: In a move towards empowering the youth of Himachal Pradesh, the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi), in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN), has successfully concluded its 10th skill development training program.
The program, aimed at equipping young minds with essential skills in Machine Learning, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 54 youths hailing from various districts of Himachal Pradesh.
Commencing on January 29, 2024, and concluding on February 29, 2024, the training program immersed participants in a comprehensive curriculum tailored to provide practical knowledge and skills in Machine Learning, a pivotal technology with wide-ranging applications across industries.
Machine Learning, recognized as a subset of advanced artificial intelligence (AI), stands as a cornerstone of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, also known as Industry 4.0.
The demand for Machine Learning professionals in India has been on a rapid rise, driven by the nation's robust IT and software services sector.
Major IT hubs like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and the Delhi-NCR region have emerged as hotspots for AI and Machine Learning job opportunities.
The concluding event, held at IIT Mandi, was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Smt. Gandharva Rathore, IAS - Managing Director of HPKVN; Sh. Atul Karohta - State Coordinator of HPKVN; Sh. Shivendu Chauhan - District Coordinator of HPKVN; Prof. Tushar Jain - Head of the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at IIT Mandi; Prof. Manoj Thakur – Chairperson, School of Management, IIT Mandi; and Prof. Anjan Kumar Swain - Program Coordinator at IIT Mandi.
Smt. Gandharva Rathore, IAS, Managing Director of HPKVN, joined the event online, highlighting the significance of the occasion.
She interacted with candidates, offering insights into their achievements and aspirations, emphasizing the value of such courses in aligning career avenues with market demand.
Smt. Rathore expressed gratitude to IIT Mandi for providing this valuable opportunity to Himachal's youth and hinted at the introduction of more such training programs in the future.
