Shimla: State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dr. Rajiv Bindal, stated, "Satyamev Jayate, Truth Triumphs."
Bindal expressed concern about attempts by Congress leaders to tarnish the image of senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, under whose guidance the BJP has grown into a big party.
Senior Congress leader and former Central Minister Jairam Ramesh arrived in Samirpur near Delhi on Saturday night to meet with senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister, Professor Prem Kumar Dhumal.
This meeting is related to a journalist interaction that took place in 2015, where Jayaram Ramesh had made allegations against former Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal and his son, Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur.
In response, Dhumal had filed a defamation case of one crore rupees against Jayaram Ramesh in the Shimla High Court. During the court proceedings, Jairam Ramesh acknowledged having participated in the said journalist interaction but had failed to appear in person.
Subsequently, Jairam Ramesh requested the judge to facilitate a meeting between him and former Chief Minister Dhumal to discuss the matter.
In continuation of this development, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh arrived in Samirpur on Saturday evening and expressed regret regarding the issue, stating that if he felt remorse for his earlier accusations, he would not pursue the case any further.
