Rahul Gandhi Lashes Out at Modi; Himachal CM Joins in, Calling PM Anti-Himachal and Anti-Farmer..

UNA/NAHAN - Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, in a fiery speech at an election rally in Una, didn’t hold back and paid back  PM in the same coin.

Gandhi tore into PM Modi, accusing him of ignoring Himachal Pradesh after last monsoon's disaster that hit 22,000 families.

“Modi’s government hasn’t released Rs 9,000 crore in relief funds,” he said, slamming the PM for favoring Adani, leading to unfair apple prices.

Rahul claimed Modi is making the rich richer, saying, “Rs 16 lakh crore in loans for 22 individuals were waived off, while farmers' loans stay unpaid.”

He blasted demonetization and GST, calling them disasters for small businesses.

If Congress wins, Rahul promised 30 lakh government jobs, MNREGA wages up to Rs 400, and a minimum support price for farmers.

“We’ll give one lakh rupees annually to poor women and double Anganwadi and Asha workers’ income,” he vowed.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu backed Rahul, accusing BJP of buying votes. “Teach BJP a lesson on June 1st. This election is honesty vs. dishonesty,” he urged.

Sukhu praised Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and highlighted the state government’s achievements like reinstating pensions and supporting widows and orphans. “Are these actions a crime?” he asked, pushing for Congress wins in all upcoming seats.

Rahul wrapped up, promising to be Himachal’s voice in Delhi, saying, “Priyanka and I are your soldiers in the capital.”

In UNA, Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being the epicenter of corruption, claiming that all the country’s corrupt leaders have found a home in his party. “As they go among the people, they are being chased away,” Rahul remarked, highlighting the alleged corruption in the Electoral Bond Scheme and questioning why the Central Government is hiding the names of donors.

“Donations have been extorted from big companies using the ED and CBI as threats,” he alleged.

Rahul urged the public to vote for Congress candidates Satpal Raizada, Vivek Sharma, and Rakesh Kalia in Una, framing the election as a battle to save the Constitution.

“BJP should not dream of abolishing the Constitution. The people and the brave workers of Congress won’t let it happen. This election is a fight to save the Constitution, which ensures Himachal’s existence as a separate state,” he emphasized.

He criticized the Modi government for creating disparities in opportunities, favoring the rich while neglecting the youth, poor, and farmers.

“Modi’s government promised 2 crore jobs annually but hasn’t delivered. Instead, they’ve eliminated jobs created during the UPA government,” he said, promising employment rights for the youth if Congress comes to power.

Rahul was especially critical of the Agniveer scheme, which he argued creates a two-tier army system. “We don’t want two types of armies.

The Agniveer scheme has reduced the army's appeal in Himachal, and the scheme doesn’t honor Agniveer martyrs like regular soldiers,” he said, pledging to scrap the scheme if the India coalition wins.

He also accused the Modi government of causing the deaths of 700 farmers at the Delhi border, failing to recognize them as martyrs.

“Instead of helping farmers, Modi waived off Adani's loans. BJP leaders even called farmers terrorists,” he fumed, promising loan waivers and guaranteed MSP for farmers under Congress rule.

The apple farmers of Himachal are being exploited by the 'price fixing' orchestrated by the partnership of Narendra Modi, Adani, and the media.

The Congress government will end this exploitation forever by providing a legal guarantee for MSP, he asserted.

Himachal Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu joined Rahul in criticizing the Prime Minister.

He pointed out that Modi didn’t visit or offer special relief after the worst disaster in Himachal’s history, which killed over 500 people.

“Modi came here asking for votes but forgot us during our biggest tragedy. No special relief package was given,” Sukhu said, branding Modi as anti-Himachal and anti-farmer.

Sukhu further slammed the BJP for lying about disaster relief funds. “Every state gets its share of NDRF and SDRF funds annually, disaster or not.

The state government hasn’t committed any crime by introducing welfare schemes like OPS, Rs 1500 pension, Sukhashray Yojana, and free education for children of widows,” he argued.

“On June 4, the people of Himachal Pradesh will put an end to BJP’s horse-trading politics.”

Rahul also lambasted Modi’s public persona and policies. “Modi talks about being non-biological and acts like everything happens automatically.

When Adani’s affairs are investigated, he’ll probably say it was God’s will,” Rahul quipped.

He criticized Modi’s media interactions, saying, “These days, interviewers ask Modi how he eats mangoes while the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.”

As the rally concluded, the message was clear: Congress is positioning itself as the defender of the Constitution, the people, and the farmers, while casting the BJP and Modi as the villains of the narrative.
