LEH: As many as nine soldiers of Indian Army were killed in a road accident after the army truck they were traveling in fell into the gorge near Kairi town located on the left bank of the Indus river, about 100 km from Leh in Ladakh.
All the injured soldiers were rushed to the army hospital after the accident that took place on August 19.
The killed soldiers have been identified as NB Subedar Ramesh Lal, Hvl Mahendra Singh, Hvl Vijayakumar, NK Chandra Shekhar, NK Tejpal, GNR Manmohan, GNR Ankit, GNR Tarandeep Singh, GNR B Vaibhav. Vijay Kumar hails from Nehra, Shimla rural.
The truck skidded off the road and fell into the Indus river gorge and killed nine soldiers who were on their way to Kairi.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has mourned the sad demise of soldier Vijay Kumar of village Nehra of Shimla Rural Sub-division who was martyred in an accident . He has also mourned the demise of eight other Indian Army soldiers who also sacrificed their life in this tragic incident.
