Shimla, Dec 12, 2024: Government Senior Secondary School, Kaina, Shimla, hosted a Road Safety Awareness Program today, drawing active participation from students of Classes 9 to 12.

 The event featured slogan writing, painting, and declamation competitions, with winners felicitated by the Chief Guest.

Mr. Narvir Singh Rathour, Additional SP (Traffic, Tourist, and Railway), Shimla, led an interactive session on traffic rules and road safety. He highlighted alarming data on road crashes in Himachal Pradesh and across India, stressing the urgency of adopting safe practices.

Highlights of the Event:

  • Interactive Talk: Mr. Rathour explained key road safety laws and provided practical insights into modern enforcement tools like speed radar guns, alco-sensors, and body cameras.
  • Good Samaritan Law: Students learned about their rights and responsibilities under the Motor Vehicle Act’s Section 135.
  • Critical Issues: The session addressed drunk driving, reckless driving, and the importance of discipline on the roads.

The program wrapped up with a strong message underscoring collective responsibility in making roads safer for everyone.
