SHIMLA: Public Works, Youth Services, and Sports Minister Vikramaditya Singh paid tribute to soldier Vijay Kumar of village Nehra who mortal remains were consigned to the flames in full honour in his native village.
Vijay Kumar lost his life in a road accident near Kairi in Ladakh when their army truck they were travelling in rolled down into the gorge of the Indus river.
His body returned to his village Nehra today. Vikramaditya Singh offered floral tributes and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
He praised Vijay Kumar's service to the nation, remembering his sacrifice. He prayed for peace for the departed soul and strength for the family to bear the loss.
Singh also extended condolences for eight other soldiers from the Indian Army who lost their lives in the same incident.
The event concluded, leaving the Nehra village standing strong, a testament to human resilience, unity, and empathy, centered around the memory of Vijay Kumar.
