SHIMLA: AT the closing ceremony of the 29th State-Level Shooting Competition near Kufri in Chiyog, PWD and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh announced that a new shooting range will be ready in Kutahsni within 1.5 to 2 years.
He participated in the event and demonstrated his shooting skills by hitting all targets in a rifle trap shooting session.
Singh emphasized the importance of sports in life, particularly for the mental and physical development of children.
He stated that the state government is actively promoting shooting sports. He congratulated the winners from Himachal, Punjab, and Haryana in various shooting categories.
Highlighting ongoing development, Singh mentioned the construction of an international-level multipurpose stadium in Kutahsni, which will include a shooting range.
Once completed, this facility will host future shooting competitions. He also noted that the government is investing ₹2,800 crore in road maintenance and upgrades across the state.
Singh celebrated the completion of the Fagu to Chiyog-Dharech bypass and announced the allocation of ₹27 crore for the next stretch from Dharech to Sainj, with work set to start soon.
The ceremony also saw the presence of notable sports figures like Olympic shooter and DSP Vijay Kumar, and national shooter Ananya Thakur from Theog. Various cultural performances by school children were also part of the event, for which Singh announced a reward of ₹15,000.
