New Delhi: The 10th Chiefs’ Conclave of the Indian Army commenced in New Delhi with a strong focus on shaping a modern, technology-driven and future-ready force capable of meeting evolving security challenges.

The conclave is reviewing key transformational initiatives, force restructuring plans and the integration of emerging technologies to enhance operational readiness and combat effectiveness.

The conclave is being led by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, and brings together former Chiefs of Army Staff and Honorary Generals of the Indian Army.

Among the former Army Chiefs present are General Vijay Kumar Singh, General Manoj Mukund Naravane, General Manoj Pande, General Deepak Kapoor, General Joginder Jaswant Singh, and General NC Vij.

The presence of past and present leadership reflects institutional continuity and strategic depth.

Honorary Generals of the Indian Army, who are former Chiefs of the Nepali Army, are also participating in the conclave.

These include General Pyarjung Thapa, General Purna Chandra Thapa, General Rajendra Chhetri, and General Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana.

Their participation underlines the close military ties and long-standing tradition of mutual honours between India and Nepal.

Before the formal deliberations, the senior military leadership paid solemn tributes to the nation’s fallen soldiers at the National War Memorial.

The wreath-laying ceremony reaffirmed the Army’s enduring commitment to honouring the supreme sacrifice of its Bravehearts and served as a reminder that future reforms are anchored in the legacy of courage and service.

During the conclave, the leadership is being briefed on contemporary and emerging security challenges, including regional threats and the changing character of warfare.

Emphasis is being laid on preparedness for hybrid and technology-driven conflicts.

The discussions are aimed at ensuring that the Indian Army remains agile, responsive and fully prepared to safeguard national security in the years ahead.
