Priority Is to Educate, Motivate and Enroll Dental Practitioners into IDA: Dr Aman Sachdeva
Shimla, Nov 20:
Newly elected president of the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Himachal Chapter, Prof. (Dr.) Aman Sachdeva, on Thursday laid out his vision for strengthening the state’s dental fraternity—placing education, motivation and expanding membership at the top of his agenda.
Speaking to the media, Dr Sachdeva said, “Educating, motivating and enrolling dental practitioners into the Indian Dental Association will be my top priority. Our focus is to bring all dentists of Himachal Pradesh under one umbrella through sustained outreach initiatives.”
He said the association would soon launch district-level visits across the state to expand IDA’s reach and unify dental professionals.
Dr Sachdeva was elected president at the recently concluded 23rd State IDA Conference held in Dharamshala. With over two decades of experience, he also represents Himachal Pradesh in the Dental Council of India.
The IDA state elections were held recently, and the new team will serve for one year. According to the new president, the aim is to create a stronger support system for practicing dentists.
“The idea is to provide a platform where working dentists can raise their issues, stay updated with the latest knowledge, and gain exposure through interaction by being part of the association,” he added.
Dr Sachdeva also proposed launching a state-level dental journal to showcase specialty articles and encourage active participation from students and young academics.
“We want to foster a stronger academic community and give students a platform to engage meaningfully with the profession,” he said.
Strengthening Continuing Dental Education (CDE) will be another major focus of IDA Himachal. The association plans regular seminars and workshops to ensure that dental practitioners stay aligned with evolving technologies and clinical practices.
“Keeping pace with rapid advancements in dentistry is essential in today’s healthcare landscape. CDE will be at the heart of our activities,” he said
