NIA Nabs Gangster Anmol Bishnoi After US Deportation, Major Strike on Terror–Crime Nexus
New Delhi, Nov 19: In a major breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday arrested gangster Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of jailed ganglord Lawrence Bishnoi, moments after he was deported from the United States.
The agency confirmed the arrest through an official post on its official platform, calling it a “significant action” in its ongoing crackdown on the terror–gangster network spread across multiple countries.
Anmol had been on the run since 2022, operating from abroad and allegedly coordinating extortion, targeted attacks and other organised crimes on Indian soil.
Investigators say he was a key player in the terror-crime syndicate being run by his brother Lawrence, providing hideouts, funds and logistics support to gang members back home.
He has been arrested under the NIA’s high-profile case RC 39/2022, which focuses on the deep-rooted partnership between Punjab-Haryana gangs and foreign handlers.
Security was tightened at Delhi’s IGI Airport ahead of his arrival, where a special NIA team took him into custody as soon as he landed.
According to officials, Anmol’s arrest is expected to expose the global tentacles of the Bishnoi network and give the agency crucial leads into how operatives stationed overseas managed crime operations in India with ease.
