SRINAGAR, JULY 10 : The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra has scripted a new milestone by crossing the two lakh pilgrim mark within just eight days, making it one of the fastest pilgrim turnouts in recent years and underscoring the success of the extensive security and administrative arrangements put in place across Jammu and Kashmir.

The unprecedented response from devotees has seen the pilgrimage progress smoothly along both the traditional Pahalgam route and the shorter Baltal route.

Authorities expect the influx of pilgrims to remain strong in the coming weeks as thousands continue to undertake the annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine.

Ensuring a seamless pilgrimage remains the administration's top priority. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor visited the Baltal Base Camp to review facilities and preparedness.

Accompanied by senior officials, he inspected arrangements and directed all departments to ensure that every aspect of the pilgrimage—from registration and accommodation to transportation and darshan—is efficient, safe and free from inconvenience.

Sinha said the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, civil administration, security forces and all stakeholder agencies are working in close coordination to provide pilgrims with a secure, comfortable and memorable spiritual experience.

Security preparedness has been further reinforced with Chief of the Army Staff concluding a three-day visit to the from July 7 to 9.

 During the visit, he reviewed the security situation along the Line of Control (LoC), counter-terrorism operations and the elaborate security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.

The Army Chief visited the and , besides touring formations and forward areas. He was briefed on the evolving security environment, operational deployments, inter-agency coordination, infrastructure development, indigenous innovations and measures being undertaken to enhance combat capability in Jammu and Kashmir.

Commending the Indian Army and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) for their professionalism, operational excellence and unwavering commitment, General Seth exhorted all ranks to remain operationally agile and maintain the highest standards of readiness to safeguard the nation and ensure the peaceful conduct of the pilgrimage.

With record pilgrim participation, tight security, and coordinated efforts by the administration and security forces, this year's Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is emerging as one of the most successful and well-managed editions in recent years.
