State President of Himachal Kisan Sabha Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar while  paying tributes to the farmers who died in course of one year of farmers' movement, said  the sacrifice made by the farmers would not go in vain.

He said on occasion of Constitution Day, the farmers have proved that no person or authority should try to suppress the democratic movement in the country, in the end, they have to face defeat.

Dr. Tanwar said that the fight for minimum price becomes important because the farmer does not get a fair price for his crop and by the time it reaches the consumer, its price increases a hundred times.

Giving the example of tomato, he said that the tomato which was sold for one to three rupees during the season, the same tomato consumers are getting 100 rupees per kg today .

Dr. Tanwar said that the fight for MSP is not only of the farmers but also of the consumers as both are being hit by it.

Sanjay Chauhan, co-convener of the Samyukta Kisan Manch said the cost of manure , seeds ,  sprays have increased so much that the cost of production of farmers has increased manifold.

He sought the government should procure apples on MIS  on the lines of Kashmir where A, B and C grade fruits are brough for  Rs 60, Rs 48 and Rs 24 per kg respectively.

State Secretary Mahila Morcha  Falma Chauhan said it has also had a profound effect on women due to inflation.
