Shimla Set to Host International Summer Festival from June 15-18..

Shimla – The International Shimla Summer Festival 2024 is scheduled to take place from June 15 to June 18 at the historic Ridge ground.

Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the Shimla Summer Festival Committee, Anupam Kashyap, shared the details during a meeting at Bachat Bhawan.

One of the festival days will be specially dedicated to the state's orphans under the Chief Minister Sukhashray Yojana, giving these children a chance to perform.

Additionally, a Himachali Food Festival will feature a fusion of regional dishes.

Throughout the four-day event, school children will present cultural performances daily, with renowned artists taking the stage in the evenings.

The festival will also include a painting competition, road safety awareness sessions, a natural flower show, and a Healthy Baby Competition for children in three age groups: newborn to one year, one to three years, and three to five years.

Kashyap emphasized the festival's prestige and the anticipation surrounding it.

He recalled last year's successful event and expressed confidence that this year’s festival would be equally impressive with the cooperation of all departments.

Proper arrangements for electricity and water have been prioritized, and all officers have been instructed to begin preparations immediately to ensure a smooth event.

The District Youth Services and Sports Officer has been tasked with organizing various sports activities during the festival.

A souvenir will also be published to commemorate the event.

Assistant Commissioner Gopal Chand Sharma led the meeting proceedings, while Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi provided suggestions on law and order, security, and medical arrangements.
