Shimla– CM Pushes for Faster Road Projects Completion.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu held a meeting today to review the progress of various road projects in the state, urging officials to speed up the work while maintaining high construction standards.
During the meeting, CM Sukhu directed the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to ensure the Shimla-Matour and Mandi-Pathankot roads are fully developed into four lanes.
"We are making Kangra district the Tourism Capital of the State, and these four-lane roads are crucial for boosting tourism," he said.
He also emphasized the importance of making the roads visually appealing and constructing tunnels to avoid excessive hill cutting.
"Once these projects are completed, travelers will save both time and money," the CM noted.
He announced that work on the Shimla-Nauni road segment will start after the monsoon season and is expected to be finished by September 2026.
The CM also called for accelerating the Pinjore-Nalagarh-Baddi four-lane project, aiming for completion by the end of 2025 to benefit local industries.
He reviewed the progress of other significant projects, including the Shimla Bypass, Shimla-Solan four-lane, and the widening of Mandi-Hamirpur and Paonta-Shillai roads.
"The state government will fully support these projects to ensure they are completed on time," assured CM Sukhu.
Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, and several other senior officials attended the meeting.
