Gaurav Bisht, HT's Senior Journalist, Passes Away at 51
Shimla: Gaurav Bisht, a senior journalist with the Hindustan Times in Shimla, passed away suddenly, following a cardiac arrest.
He was 51 years old. Bisht's untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the media fraternity of Himachal Pradesh, where he was widely respected for his professionalism and sharp sense of humor.
Throughout his illustrious career, Bisht earned a reputation for his integrity, dedication, and the unique flair he brought to his reporting. His ability to blend humor with hard-hitting journalism made him a beloved figure among his peers and readers alike.
He is survived by his teenaged son, wife and mother.
His cremation will take place at his parental village Anu in Rohru on August 30.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, and PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh have all expressed their deep sorrow and shock over his passing.
Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, Anurag Singh Thakur and other BJP leaders have also expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
In their statements, they acknowledged the significant contributions Bisht made to journalism in the state and offered their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
Gaurav Bisht leaves behind a legacy of journalistic excellence and a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew and worked with him.
Later Himachal Vidhan Sabha mourned the deaths of three journalists Gaurav Bisht, Anand Bodh, Times of India and Vipin Kala of Ammar Ujala.
