SHIMLA- In a meeting chaired today by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Himachal Pradesh State Cabinet has made several important decisions.
Committee Formation:
The Cabinet has decided to form a committee, led by the Secretary of Power, along with representatives from the Jal Shakti Vibhag, Finance Department, and Law Department. The committee will engage in discussions with Power Developers regarding the imposition of water cess on various power projects in the state.
.The Cabinet has given its approval to open and begin construction of Rajiv Gandhi Government Model Day Boarding schools up to the primary level at three new locations.
These locations include Jwalamukhi and Fatehpur in Kangra district, and Bhoranj in Hamirpur district. Construction of such schools has already been approved at 13 other sites in the state.
The Cabinet has decided to fill 69 posts of jail warders in the Prisons Department. Additionally, it has approved the filling of 20 posts of different categories in Sub-Jail Nalagarh (Kishanpura) of Solan district.
New Highway-cum-Tourist Police Stations: Three new Highway-cum-Tourist Police Stations will be opened at Baghed in Bilaspur district, Nerchowk in Mandi district, and Bhunter in Kullu district along the Kiratpur-Manali National Highway. Requisite posts of different categories will also be created and filled to man these stations.
Increase in Honorarium:
The Cabinet has given the green light to enhance the monthly honorarium of part-time Panchayat Chowkidars from Rs. 6,200 to Rs. 6,700, effective from April 1, 2023. This decision will benefit around 3,226 Panchayat Chowkidars in the state. The honorarium of elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions will also be increased.
Bar Timings:
Bars in the state will now operate from 12 Noon to 1 AM for the year 2023-24, as approved by the Cabinet.
Paperless Registration System:
The Cabinet has decided to introduce a paperless registration system in the state's Employment Exchanges to facilitate job seekers.
Medical and Non-Medical Classes:
The Cabinet has approved the commencement of Medical and Non-Medical classes in Government College, Dhami in Shimla district. Requisite posts of different categories will be created and filled for this purpose.
These decisions aim to address various sectors and enhance the overall development of Himachal Pradesh.
