Dharamshala: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the five-day state-level Shivratri Mahotsav at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Baijnath, Kangra district, and dedicated 10 development schemes worth Rs. 49.22 crore in Baijnath Assembly constituency.
During a public gathering, the Chief Minister granted permission for the expansion of Kangra Airport and assured a substantial relief package for displaced families.
He emphasized the potential boost to tourism and criticized the Centre for delayed disaster relief funds.
Addressing the significance of Mahashivratri, he highlighted the importance of preserving cultural festivals and announced special provisions in the budget to bolster the rural economy, including a minimum support price for wheat, maize, and milk.
Acknowledging International Women's Day, the Chief Minister outlined initiatives promoting women's financial independence and unveiled a youth policy to combat drug abuse through sports encouragement.
He inaugurated various infrastructure projects, including drinking water schemes and road improvements, while announcing future developments such as a Polytechnic Institute, ITI, and increased healthcare facilities.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Kishori Lal commended the Chief Minister's dedication to Baijnath's progress, emphasizing sustained development under his leadership.
