Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu marked Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti at Gurudwara Sahib Shri Guru Singh Sabha in Shimla. Honored by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee with a Saropa, he urged citizens to embrace Guru Nanak Dev's teachings for humanity's welfare.
The Chief Minister applauded Guru Nanak Dev's dedication to uplifting the underprivileged and emphasized the ongoing relevance of his principles.
He also recognized meritorious students and announced a student loan scheme.
Addressing the media, he revealed plans for cabinet expansion, outlined goals for Himachal Pradesh's green energy status by 2026, and launched the Rs. 680 Crore Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgar Start-up Yojna's initial phase.
The scheme offers a 50 percent subsidy for e-taxi purchases, with a positive response evidenced by 70 online applications.
Future phases will extend the initiative to the agricultural sector. MLAs, political advisors, and dignitaries attended the celebration.
