Shimla, August 22, 2024; The Himachal Pradesh Police is ramping up its traffic management game.
A three-day "Training of Trainers (TOT)" program, held by the Traffic, Tourist, and Railway (TTR) unit in Shimla, concluded today.
The training, which ran from August 20-22, was all about getting newly posted traffic cops up to speed with modern tools and techniques.
Directed by DGP Dr. Atul Verma, the training was inaugurated by DIG TTR Gurdev Chand Sharma, who stressed the need for well-trained officers in maintaining road safety and order.
The program focused on making officers comfortable with digital tools like the E-Challan system and the iRAD application, essential for enforcing traffic laws more efficiently.
Narvir Singh Rathour, Additional SP TTR, led sessions on the latest updates to the Motor Vehicle Act, while other experts demonstrated how to use speed radars, Alco Sensors, and more.
This training is part of the Himachal Police's broader push to modernize traffic enforcement and ensure safer roads, Rathour said.
