Shimla/Keylong: In the past 24 hours, several parts of Himachal Pradesh, particularly the Lahaul-Spiti region, have got a fresh speel of snowfall, transforming the tourist destinations into a winter wonderland. 

Gondla, Shashin, and Koksar experienced over one to 2 feet of fresh snow fall , while the north portal of Atal Tunnel in Chandra Valley and Keylong received around one foot of snow.

Additionally, Solang ski resort, located uphill of Manali, also witnessed a significant snowfall, with  one foot of snow covering the area.

In other parts of the state, including Narkanda  Hatu Peak  and Mahasu peak Kufri in Shimla, sleet and snow flakes were reported during the night hours, adding to the wintry charm of the region.

Further away , areas such as Baghi Khadrala, Moraal Danda, Kharapather, Chanshal, and Choordhar experienced snowfall ranging from four inches to  six inches   contributing to a chilly atmosphere across Himachal Pradesh.

The  authorities advise residents and travelers to exercise caution and take necessary precautions while venturing out in the snow-covered terrain.

The snowfall is expected to impact travel and transportation in the region, with road closures and delays likely as maintenance BRO karmayogis areon the job in Lahaul-Spiti  to clear the snow-covered highways including Manali Keylong.
