SHIMLA: The young soldier Kulbhushan Manta from the 52nd National Rifles attained martyrdom today after he fought to the terrorists till the last bullet in Baramulla area of Kashmir valley. Manta hails from Gonth, a remote village of Kupvi Tehsil of Chopal subdivision in Shimla district.
He is the only son of the family. The news has brought a shockwave in Gonth, Kupvi and Chopal with the residents expressing solidarity with the family.
Kulbhushan is the second braveheart after Lt Hari Singh from Kupvi who attained martyrdom.
Earlier, Lt. Hari Singh fought the 1965 Indo-Pak battle and attained martyrdom.
Lt Hari Singh was awarded with Vir Chakra for his act of bravery. It has brought laurels not only to Chopal and Shimla district, but also to entire Himachal Pradesh.
HP Governor has joined people of Himachal paying tributes to the brave soldier and have expressed condolences to bereaved family who lost their brave son.
Entire Himachal is proud of brave son of Vir Bhoomi.
As soon as his body arrived at Gonth village, his wife, his parents and relatives broke down.
They asserted that their son has made supreme sacrifice to the nation and they are proud of it.
Later, his mortal remains were consigned to the flames with all state honours with the chants of Sahid Kulbhushan Amar Rahe..".
