Shimla: In a strategic move following the recent political upheaval within the Congress party, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu swiftly appointed Nand Lal, a loyalist of the late Virbhadra Singh and supporter of Vikramaditya Singh, as the newly appointed Chairman of the 7th State Finance Commission (SFC).
The decision came in the wake of a damage control initiative by the Congress party to stabilize its political standing in the state.
Nand Lal, a Rampur MLA stepped into the role following the dismissal of six rebel Congress MLAs.
During his courtesy call on Chief Minister Sukhu, Nand Lal commended the state's progress under Sukhu's leadership and expressed confidence in the Chief Minister's vision.
He also highlighted the efficacy of various welfare schemes launched by the State Government, emphasizing their positive impact on the people of the state.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, and Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Mohan Lal Brakta and Ram Kumar, signaled a unified front within the party, reaffirming support for Chief Minister Sukhu's administration amidst recent political challenges.
