Shimla: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presided over the 44th meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, announcing plans to utilize Rs. 143.16 crores for various welfare initiatives in the fiscal year 2024-25.
The board anticipates a revenue of Rs. 191 crores during this period.
A significant portion, amounting to Rs. 30 crores, will be allocated to the Mukhya Mantri Vidhwa/Ekal/Besahara/Divyang Mahila Aawas Yojna.
Under this scheme, eligible individuals with an annual income of less than Rs. 2.5 Lakhs will receive financial assistance of three lakhs for housing construction. Additionally, an extra one lakh will be provided for kitchen and toilet
He also announced plans to digitize the board's data to enhance accessibility and efficiency.
Registration for workers will be facilitated through Lokmitra Kendras.
