In a proud moment for India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosting the G20 Presidency was quick to share that the history has dawned as G20 Members adopted the G20 New Delhi Leaders' Declaration.

Challenges include economic instability, setbacks to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), rising greenhouse gas emissions, climate change, biodiversity loss, and more. Poverty, inequality, pandemics, and conflicts disproportionately affect vulnerable populations.

The G20 leaders pledged to create a better future through sustainable, inclusive, and just transitions globally, focusing on job creation and economic resilience. They vowed to accelerate actions on development and climate challenges, promote sustainable lifestyles, conserve biodiversity, and enhance access to medical supplies.

They also committed to strengthening the Paris Agreement, reforming Multilateral Development Banks, improving digital access, promoting gender equality, and integrating developing countries' perspectives.

Regarding the war in Ukraine, they stressed adherence to the UN Charter principles, condemning the use of force and nuclear weapons. They recognized the impact of geopolitical and security issues on the global economy, advocating for peaceful conflict resolution.

The leaders pledged to accelerate global growth, protect vulnerable populations, and support private enterprise. They emphasized a rules-based multilateral trading system, combatting protectionism, and enhancing support for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

On SDGs, they recognized the need for accelerated progress and emphasized food security, nutrition, and soil health. They also pledged to address food and energy insecurity and support the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to addressing climate change and the Paris Agreement's goals, aiming for a temperature increase of no more than 1.5°C. They acknowledged the need for rapid reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

Additionally, they pledged to implement principles for sustainable lifestyles and support renewable energy initiatives. They committed to restoring degraded ecosystems and halting biodiversity loss.

The declaration highlighted the importance of a reinvigorated United Nations, reformed international cooperation, and multilateralism.

In the digital economy, the leaders welcomed a toolkit for cyber education, monitored crypto-assets, and supported central bank digital currencies. They pledged to ensure financial inclusion for all.

Gender equality and empowerment of women and girls were emphasized, with a commitment to bridging the digital gender gap.

The declaration also addressed counterterrorism efforts, including support for the Financial Action Task Force, transparency in beneficial ownership, and global asset recovery.

The G20 welcomed the African Union as a permanent member and committed to promoting respect for religious and cultural diversity. They reaffirmed their commitment to integrating developing countries' perspectives.

G20 leaders expressed gratitude to India for hosting the summit and affirmed their commitment to global economic cooperation.

They looked forward to future meetings in Brazil, South Africa, and the United States, with Saudi Arabia set to host the G20 Presidency next.
