Heavy Showers in Isolated Pockets
Shimla, July 25:
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain across Himachal Pradesh in the next 24 hours, with the possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated places, particularly in the lower and mid hills.
The state is currently under the influence of an active monsoon trough and a Western Disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir.
According to the IMD latest bulletin the weather system, coupled with the upper air cyclonic circulation, is likely to trigger intense spells of rain in districts like Sirmaur, Solan, Bilaspur, Mandi, Shimla and Kangra.
Rainfall Recorded (Past 24 Hours):
Paonta Sahib recorded the highest rainfall at 41.0 mm, followed by Sundernagar and Kufri with 23.0 mm each.
Dhaulakuan received 18.0 mm, Shimla 13.1 mm, Solan 9.6 mm and Narkanda 5.0 mm.
Kalpa received traces of rain, while several stations including Manali, Dharamshala, Bhuntar, and Keylong remained dry.
Temperature Round-Up:
Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti was the coldest at 12.8°C this morning, while Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur turned out to be the hottest at 36.0°C on Thursday.
Shimla recorded a pleasant 17.6°C (min) and 24.0°C (max).
Manali reported a sharp rise in temperatures with 18.1°C (min) and 26.2°C (max).

Kufri: 21.1°C
Narkanda: 21.2°C

No warnings for extremely heavy rainfall have been issued so far.
However, the IMD has advised caution in vulnerable areas prone to landslides, flash floods, and road blockages, especially during heavy showers.
