Accompanied by Uttarakhand senior Congress leaders Harish Rawat, Ganesh Godiyal, Pritam Singh and others Rahul Gandhi also made his beeline for the holy Hari Ki Pauri and performed Ganga Puja Aarti in a traditional manner with the Sadhu samaj and Pujaris and pilgrims in attendance at the Holy Ganga Ghat.
Addressing the Congress party workers through the Uttarakhandi Swabhiman virtual rally from Haridwar, Rahul Gandhi announced “ Chhar Dham, Chhar Kaam” poll promises to the voters of Uttarakhand.
Rahul Gandhi said Congress if voted to power would give 4 lakh jobs to youth of Uttarakhand, Transfer Rs 40,000 directly into the bank accounts of four lakh families, provide LPG gas cylinder at the rate of Rs 500”.
Talking about the third Chhar Dham, Chhar Kaam Promise, Rahul Gandhi announced that the Congress government would provide health services at the door step of the people. The medicines, Doctor will reach at the door step, so will be the ambulance. Where the ambulance can not go, we will provide health services on motor bikes and where it is not possible, we will provide the services by using drones, he said.
Taking jibes at Prime Minister Narender Modi, Rahul Gandhi charged Prime Minister had promised five crore jobs to youth of India and Rs 15 lakh to be transferred into the bank accounts of each citizen. “Still, people are waiting it to happen”, he said.
Addressing the issue of the farmers, Rahul Gandhi said Prime Minister closed doors for the farmers who stood against the three black farm laws. “But he had to bend himself and had to repeal the three farm laws, which was brought in to benefit the big corporates”, he charged.
Gandhi cited example of Chhattisgarh's Congress government saying that Congress had promised to give Rs 2450 per quintal to the paddy farmers, which they have now done in the state. The government has launched the historic Nyaya Yojna in Chhattisgarh, which will be replicated in Uttarakhand as well, he said.
Gandhi said the Congress Chief Minister and ministers will be accessible to all people. “We want to run the government in Uttarakhand with partnership with people, farmers, small businessmen and workers”, he claimed in his bid to woo the common voters in the state.
He said BJP changed three CMs in couple of months that highlighted corruption and bad governance in Uttarakhand. “If Congress CM does not listen to Congress workers, he will ensure that it does not happen”, he said.
Rahul Gandhi charged the corona infection spread due to the fake testing done during the Kumbh Mela.
