ABVP students protest in Shimla

Shimla: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) unit in Shimla staged a protest outside the Deputy Commissioner's office today,

ABVP condemned the assault on a college girl in Palampur and raising questions about law and order in the Sukhu regime.

The ABVP demonstration comes in the wake of a brutal attack on a female student at Palampur bus stand on April 20, 2023.

The incident has sparked outrage among students, prompting the ABVP to demand justice and accountability from the authorities.

Speaking at the protest, representatives of ABVP criticized the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, citing rising crime rates and the flourishing drug trade.

They accused the Sukhu Sarkar  of failing to provide adequate security to women despite promising significant measures before coming to power.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Sanya Sharma, an activist of ABVP from Shimla, stated that since the change in administration, Himachal Pradesh has witnessed a surge in criminal activities such as thefts, robberies, and murders, tarnishing the state's reputation.

ABVP leader Satyam Thakur acknowledged the seriousness of the matter and assured a fair investigation into the incident.

He sought   stringent action against the perpetrators to deter such crimes in the future.

Moreover, Thakur expressed concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation and the increasing influence of drug mafias in the state. He promised to address these issues promptly to restore safety and security in Himachal Pradesh.
