PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh Inspects Flood Damage in Bagipul, Kullu..Says All roads will be restored in the next five days

Kullu, August 2, 2024 — In a swift response to the recent devastating flash floods that have left numerous areas  cut off  in Kullu, Malana, and Mandi, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh conducted an inspection of the damage at Bagipul in District Kullu.

The minister's visit was marked by a series of urgent measures aimed at restoring vital road connectivity and providing relief to the affected residents.

During his visit,  Singh announced the requisition of three mechanical Bailey bridges from the Shimla and Dharamshala mechanical divisions.

He assured the public that these bridges would be installed within the next six days by the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD).

This move is expected to expedite the restoration of transport routes, which have been severely disrupted by the floods.

"Our top priority is to ensure that the snapped road connectivity is restored within the next five days,"  Singh stated.

The government's committed to mitigate the impact of the disaster on the locals.

The prompt installation of the Bailey bridges will provide a critical lifeline for the residents of Rampur, Nirmand, Kullu, Malana, and Mandi, who have been cut off due to the floodwaters.

The floods have wreaked havoc across the region, with many families marooned and in urgent need of assistance.

As the HPPWD teams work round the clock to implement these measures, the residents of Kullu, Malana, and Mandi remain hopeful for a quick recovery and the return of normalcy to their lives.
