Shimla: Himachal Pradesh's junior (under-19) girls' team secured a Bronze medal at the 25th National Tennis Volleyball Championship, defeating Maharashtra in the tournament held at Pune today.
Himachal Pradesh also displayed commendable performances, reaching the semifinals in mixed doubles and narrowly missing the quarterfinals in the under-15 boys' category.
The team was selected based on their exceptional performance in state-level competitions, said Gobind Singh, one of the coaches, from Himachal.
The Tennis Volleyball Himachal Association's officials, including President Vishal Chauhan, General Secretary Gobind Singh, Director Gyan Mehta, and Sarita Chauhan congratulated the team for their achievement.
The national-level competition took place in Pune, Maharashtra, from October 21 to 24, featuring girls like Gunjan, Riya, Vidanshi, Tamanna, Jannat, Anita, and Gunjan Chauhan from Himachal Pradesh, as well as boys including Kartik, Aniruddh, Ranjan, Parth, Aman, Shivansh, Priyansh, Parikshit, Akshit, Darshit Rapta, Shubham, Saksham, and Krish from the state.
