CM Sukhu Visits Samej, Shares Grief with Flood Victims and ensures full support to rehabilitation of the family with assistance from all institutions..
RAMPUR: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited Samej near Rampur today to assess the damage from the recent floods that washed away 32 people on August 1 who still remain missing under the massive heaps of flood debris.
Sukhu ensures that the houses of the flood vudtims would be rebuilt. He directed DC Shimla to relocate and find safe spot for the purpose in the village.
He announced Rs 50,000 as relief and Rs 5000 as rent to each of the victims. He promised to rebuild their houses with all help.
Accompanying him were Education Minister Rohit Thakur and Nand Lal, Chairman of the 7th State Finance Commission and MLA from Rampur.
The CM received a report from the NDRF team and inspected the affected Greenko Hydropower Project.
Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap and Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi provided detailed information about the situation.
CM Sukhu toured the disaster-hit areas of Rampur, sharing in the grief of the affected families. "I deeply mourn the loss of our loved ones in this disaster.
Our government stands with the affected people with utmost sensitivity.
We will leave no stone unturned in relief efforts with the help of all institutions," he said.
The disaster has once again caused extensive damage to the state. "We will face this challenge together," CM Sukhu added, emphasizing the collective resolve to overcome the tragedy.
Earlier District administration has distributed the relief to the victims under the relief manual.
