Shimla – The Himachal Pradesh Police, under DGP Dr. Atul Verma's leadership, has just wrapped up an intensive 10-day drone training program, aiming to modernize policing with cutting-edge technology.
Despite heavy rain and fog that forced a venue shift to Sirmour’s Kolar area , the training concluded successfully with a final demo at Police Lines Bharari in Shimla.
Deputy Inspector General (Traffic, Tourist, and Railway) Shri Gurdev Chand Sharma, who presided over the closing ceremony, highlighted the growing role of drones in law enforcement.
From surveillance and crowd management to disaster response and crime investigation, drones are set to become a key tool in smarter policing.
"Drones give us the edge to respond faster and more effectively," DIG Sharma remarked.
Additional SP Narvir Singh Rathour, the course coordinator, praised the participants’ dedication, and ASI Sandeep Chauhan of 6th IRBn Nahan was lauded for his exceptional role as the trainer.
With drones transforming law enforcement, the Himachal Police is stepping up to the future, ensuring they're equipped for a smarter, more efficient response to any situation.
