The shooting stones badly damaged the the windscreen and roof of moving car that hit the ill-fated father-son duo sitting in their private car near the village, said the police. Father died on the spot while his son was critical yet stable and was rushed to the Bhawanagar hospital, the police said.
The residents of the area complained that the shooting stones and boulders have become a major danger for the villagers and commuters traveling on the Nichar-Bhawanagar road and on the Tapri-Urni stretch of the highway. The state disaster management authorities have done nothing to mitigate this constant disaster for locals.
