Shimla, December 26: The Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services (HPAS) fraternity is in mourning following the untimely demise of Shri Rajnesh Kumar (2016 batch), Assistant Settlement Officer.

 He passed away on December 24 in Arki, District Solan, after a brief illness.

Rajnesh Kumar, a dedicated officer known for his commitment to public service, hailed from Suni in Shimla district. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Neelam, and family.

In an official notification, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena expressed deep sorrow over the loss, terming it a significant blow to the state administration.

"Shri Rajnesh Kumar's contributions to the state administration will always be remembered. The government extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family," the statement read.

The news has left the administrative community shocked, with colleagues and officials recalling him as an earnest and diligent officer who had much to contribute.

His last rites will take place in his hometown, Suni.
