Shimla: Mcleodganj in the serene Dhauladhar near Dharamshala in Kangra, has been honored with the prestigious "Best Emerging Mountain Destination" award by the India Today Group.
The accolade was bestowed upon the charming hill town during the Tourism Survey & Awards 2023 ceremony held in New Delhi on February 29th, 2024.
The award was presented in the 'Emerging Mountain Destination' category of the Mountain Destinations segment.
Lieutenant Governor handed over the honor to Manasi Sahay Thakur, the Director of Tourism & Civil Aviation.
The selection process for the award involved a comprehensive survey conducted by the India Today Group, engaging its readers through online voting on the India Today website.
Starting a month and a half before the award ceremony, the survey invited nominations from various states across the country.
Among the nominations received, Mcleodganj emerged as the preferred destination in its respective category, showcasing its growing popularity and appeal among travelers and adventure seekers alike.
