Shimla: In this year's UPSC Civil Services Examination, a total of 1126 candidates succeeded in making their mark, reflecting a diverse array of backgrounds and achievements.
Among them, three promising candidates hail from the state of Himachal Pradesh.
Taruna Kamal, 27, a resident of Rati Mandi, demonstrated remarkable prowess by clinching success in her very first attempt, securing the commendable 203rd rank. She is a daughter of Mc Mandi contractor and a veterinarian.
Meanwhile, Vinay Kumar Sharma, a product of NIT Hamirpur, excelled with a notable rank of 823. He comes from Ghumarwin.
Another standout achiever in Civil services examination from Himachal Pradesh is Anmol, 30, who also had topped the Himachal Administrative Services (HAS) and is also a proud NIT product. He secured 438th rank and he comes from Sarkaghat Mandi.
At the national level, Aditya Shrivastava, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur, emerged as the overall topper of the Civil Services Examination.
Additionally, D Ananya Reddy from Karnataka distinguished herself as the top-ranking woman, securing the notable 3rd position.
Nausheen, representing the Muslim community with pride, secured a spot in the top 9 , hailing from Gorakhpur, and contributing to the rich diversity of successful candidates.
Overall 50 candidates from the Muslim community made it the civil services for the first-time in the country.
Moreover, the Northeast region celebrated the success of four candidates who made it the services in this year's examination, highlighting the increasing representation from the region in the civil services.
