Urging Uttarakhand Voters to Surpass Previous Records in Voter Turnout for Stronger Democracy.
Dehradun: As Uttarakhand gears up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on April 19, a fervent call to action resonates across the state.
Anoop Nautiyal, the esteemed founder of the Dehradun-based SDC Foundation, has issued a passionate appeal to voters, urging them to turn out in unprecedented numbers to cast their ballots and shape the future of the nation.
Expressing grave concern over the consistently low voter turnout in Uttarakhand, Nautiyal underscored the imperative of every citizen's participation in the electoral process.
Citing past statistics, he highlighted Uttarakhand's lamentable position, ranking second lowest in voter turnout of about 61 to 62 percent after Jammu and Kashmir, among all Himalayan states during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Nautiyal emphasized the pivotal role of each voter in fortifying democracy, urging them not only to exercise their own franchise but also to mobilize peers and acquaintances who may be hesitant to participate.
He called upon businesses, institutions, and employers to facilitate their employees' voting endeavors, encouraging a culture of civic engagement and responsibility.
"At this crucial juncture, it is incumbent upon every citizen to uphold the hard-won right to choose their representatives," asserted Nautiyal.
"By casting our votes on April 19, we affirm our commitment to democracy and pave the way for a brighter future for Uttarakhand and the nation."
With the stage set for the electoral battle that will determine the fate of five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand, the clarion call echoes louder than ever: it is time for voters to unite, transcend previous records, and steer the course of democracy towards greater strength and vitality.
